An integrated real-time translation feature is essential to streamline cross-language communication. Without it, users must switch between apps, complicating conversations. This feature would enhance user experience by enabling seamless interactions within WhatsApp.
Some devices, like Google Pixel 6, have built-in translation features, but these are hardware-dependent. Many users with other devices lack this functionality, making a built-in WhatsApp feature essential.
Non-fluent English speakers face greater challenges, leading to misunderstandings and decreased productivity. Real-time translation ensures clear communication for all group members.

I conducted a market analysis to understand the need for real-time translation in WhatsApp.

The global language translation software market is growing rapidly, projected to rise from USD 10.11 billion in 2023 to USD 37.02 billion by 2032 due to the increasing demand for seamless cross-language communication. Key apps like Google Translate, Microsoft Translator, and TalkJS highlight this trend.
WhatsApp, with over 3.03 billion monthly active users and 70% checking the app daily as of June 2024, is perfectly positioned to benefit from integrating this feature, enhancing communication, inclusivity, and engagement.
